Brand and Retail

In the mid 2000s, one of the most important business activities for YDreams was the creation of digital experiences for retail and brands. Many brick and mortars saw the value in developing more attractive shopping experiences, considering the rise of online sales giants like Amazon. Many brands also understood the need to appeal to a new generation of consumers, which could be accomplish through the showcase of innovation in showrooms and fair booths. YDreams now counts thousands of these projects for clients such as Nike, Disney, Coca-cola or Microsoft.

Selected Cases

Vodafone Cube (2002)

Located at Vodafone’s Lisbon headquarters, the Vodafone Cube was a large-scale interactive display with many games and applications controlled via mobile phone.

Adidas Eyeball (2005)

The Adidas Eyeballs were a series of large-scale interactive displays created for Adidas to promote the Euro Cup 2005. The Eyeball had a series of multi-user applications that ranged from interactive games to public voting. The interaction with the display was done through mobile phone or through a series of positional and motion detection sensors embedded on the structure.

Hello Kitty (2007)

An interactive installation for Hello Kitty’s flagship store, where kids can use a lantern to interact with a digital coloring game.

Coca-Cola Kiss Puppies (2008)

A large-scale augmented reality experience, where families are being chased by furry animals that want to kiss you.

Interactive Shelves (2008)

An add-on product shelf equipped with motion and height sensors. It provides audiovisual feedback about the product and locally logs consumer interaction data.

Santander’s Visitor Center (2009)

Santander contracted YDreams to create the most futuristic and unique interactive experiences for their visitor center at Ciudad Santander, one of the important corporate headquarters in the world.

The concierge robots that welcome new visitors and accompany them to their chosen destination.
An augmented reality overlay on top of the architectural scale model of Ciudad Santander.

Nike Free Throw Experience (2011)

A NBA-branded free-throw game created for Nike Los Angeles. It uses depth-sensing computer vision to allow the user to control the avatar via full-body interaction.

Lego Virtual Aquarium (2012)

Interactive installation for youngsters, where they can create their own Lego fish an populate a virtual aquarium.
